Features 1,2,3,4 and 8 are done. The 7 partially done.

Download the beta from:
www.aperitto.com/media/downloads/ppcic_bin.rar
and replace the installed executable with this one.

* The registry section editor now is far more easy to use. It is the same as the windows registry editor.
* The automatic file association is very handy and easy to use tool. Simple give the extension, a description and the executable and the PPCIC will create the necessary registry entries for you . It is accessible into the registry sections, when the user presses the add button.
* I included the custom activesync icon into the advanced options of the builder window. Simple choose an icon file and the activesync's uninstall list will display it.
* Also fixed the bug when the user wants to the uninstall the program from both desktop and pocket pc via activesync. Now activesync can find and executes the desktop installer automatically.

There is a new beta online:
www.aperitto.com/media/downloads/ppcic_bin.rar
Download it, and place the executable into the directory where the PPCIC is installed.

Feature 6, Project Manager now is implemented.
Now the program can open several projects and project managers at the same time.

This feature increases radically the overall flexibility of the PPCIC.

For example, you can have some projects, producing only cab(s) files and some other projects producing only executable files from the previous projects. With only one click to the build all button into the project manager, then the PPCIC will build them one by one, in user defined order (eg first the only cab(s) projects, then the only executables projects, which depend on the first projects), with user build rules for each project (build only cab(s), only executable, or both).

Screenshot here:
www.aperitto.com/media/downloads/ppcic_screenshot.jpg

I hope to the end of the week, all the remaining features will be ready and I publish the 1.9 version.

Regards,
Nick Protopapas

PS:
Need feedback for these features for bugs/suggestions before publishing 1.9 version...

Finally, almost all the features are implemented. Only the options dialog needs some work, mainly into the automatic search of the .net cf2 cab(s) from the user's hard disk.

Latest 1.9 beta:
www.aperitto.com/media/downloads/ppcic_bin.rar

And an example project, demonstrating the newest features as project manager, win32 only installations projects, language depended files into installation:
www.aperitto.com/media/downloads/multi_lang_example.rar
Uncompress example and open the project manager file.
Press the Build All button, and 3 cabs (from 3 different projects) and one windows installation will be created (This project is a win32 only project. No cab(s) files are created from it). The windows installation will install the appropriate cab file, depending on the user's language selection.

So, in the next two days I'll publish this version.

Almost to the 1.9 final version.

But, due to my current unemployment state, I am thinking to get some small fee for commercial use of PPCIC. It will remain free for personal or freeware projects. Also, once registered, all the next versions will be delivered free of charge.

In fact, now, thanks to the forum users who submitted bugs and made suggestions, it is enough powerful and flexible, compared to other setup creators, which costs some (and some of them many) money.

What are your opinions about that ?

Nick,

I think that is fair. Would past donations count towards any fee;)
